According to Chelsea interim manager Frank Lampard, not all first-team players have contributed their fair share this year.

The Blues' 2022–23 season will almost certainly end in the bottom half of the Premier League after a disastrous start under Todd Boehly and with Clearlake Capital's ownership almost up.

Popular manager Thomas Tuchel was ousted in September 2022 and replaced by Graham Potter of Brighton. However, Potter struggled to motivate a greatly enlarged team and received his own dismissal in April.

Lampard returned to Chelsea as a caretaker manager until the end of the season, although in his eight games in charge, he has only managed one victory after losing his first six straight.

Lampard returned to Chelsea as a caretaker manager until the end of the season, although in his eight games in charge, he has only managed one victory after losing his first six straight.

Lampard said that he only sees fight and hunger in few of his team players ahead of Sunday's arduous trip to Manchester City.

"I believe there are two perspectives you can take if you're a gamer. Regarding Chelsea's bad season and future chances, he stated, "You can say, don't fancy that because it is going to be too tough, or you can go, no, no, I'm going to show individually in my own way what I can do in a game, to show.

And I can guarantee with certainty that some of the guys will do it now that I've been here. I'm interested in seeing whether the other people want to come. That's how simple it is in terms of performance.

"Whatever their motivation, whether it's to impress a new manager, whether it's to impress another club they might be moving to, if that's what they're doing, then I don't blame them,"

"Because these next three games—three against the top four teams, the first of which is City—are incredibly difficult.

After this weekend's match against Man City, Chelsea will host Newcastle United before visiting Manchester United to finish the season.

According to 90min, Mauricio Pochettino has signed a contract with the Blues to serve as their new permanent head coach.

Following a 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest, which handed the Premier League championship to Manchester City, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has acknowledged that he needs to do more to boost his players' morale.

With their loss on Saturday, City were crowned champions for the third consecutive year, extinguishing whatever chance the Gunners had of winning a surprise trophy.

Thomas Partey was switched to right-back and Jakub Kiwior was shifted to the left in an unusual Arteta formation, and the manager was eager to accept blame for Arsenal's loss after the game.

"First of all, congratulations to Manchester City on winning the championship, but it is a sad day for us," he remarked. "Now that we have to face the facts, we were guilty of conceding a goal today,"

We must now accept the fact that we handed up a goal today because we lacked the ability to break them down. We could have played for three hours and yet not finished.

"I accept the responsibility since it is mine. Sport is terrific when it's beautiful, and bad when it's not.

"The number of goals we've allowed in recent games has cost us, but we can't place the blame elsewhere. In the past several weeks, we haven't performed as well as a team as we could have.

It's football, folks. It is a very sad day because we have been working for that goal for 11 months and have won so many days. We tried to compete, but we couldn't.

"We must now recover. It hurts a great deal. We have a challenging week ahead of us, so I need to find a way to motivate the guys.

Goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale added to BBC Sport's analysis of the match: "The dust won't settle until the summer. Although we are quite dissatisfied in how things turned out, we are proud of how hard we worked.

"One team has defeated Manchester City to win the title in six seasons. However, we made the mistakes on our own, making mistakes in games we ought to have won. We had the opportunity to win those games.

They were battling for their lives, thanks to Forest. We were aware of the kind of game it would be. We just couldn't dissect them. We were penalized during the counterattack because we missed that special moment. We kept trying to push through them, but we were unsuccessful.

The Europa League will be "our competition" for the Reds next season, according to Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, who has all but admitted defeat in the battle for a Champions League spot.

In the Premier League standings, Klopp's squad had spent the majority of the season between sixth and tenth place, but a run of seven straight victories from mid-April to mid-May, together with Manchester United's lull above them, had Liverpool in the running for a top-four finish.

On Saturday, any lingering aspirations appeared to have been fully destroyed when the Reds were kept to a point by Aston Villa, salvaging a draw with a late equalizer by Roberto Firmino in his final game at Anfield, while United managed to win away at Bournemouth.

Now that United and Newcastle have played their final two games, they each need just one more point to mathematically eliminate Liverpool.

The Europa League will become our competition, Klopp promised BBC Sport. I'm not very spoiled. With all these clubs around us, it's remarkable that we have already earned a spot in the Europa League. That was incredibly challenging, but we managed it, so that's fantastic.

"We were so far away for so long that we couldn't even hear the Champions League. The Europe League is doing great. See what we can accomplish.

Following the recent victory over Leicester earlier this month, Liverpool was already guaranteed a spot in the Europa League at the very least for the upcoming season.

After eight years of Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA team World Cup, and Community Shield victories, it is the only trophy the team hasn't won during Klopp's leadership.

Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, insists that David de Gea is still a "top keeper" despite winning the Premier League Golden Glove award for most shutouts this season.

During United's victory over Bournemouth on Saturday, De Gea presided over his 17th league shutout of the year. David Brooks was denied thanks in large part to a particularly good save by De Gea.

The next three best Premier League goalkeepers this season were Alisson (14), Nick Pope (13), and Aaron Ramsdale (both 13), but none of them can currently overtake De Gea.

De Gea has won two Golden Gloves in his career. Under Jose Mourinho, United finished second in the league with 18 clean sheets maintained.

Even still, De Gea has drawn flak for a number of expensive errors this year. In a recent United loss, he contributed to West Ham's goal, and the 32-year-old also had a terrible night when the Red Devils lost to Sevilla in the Europa League.

Following the Bournemouth game, Ten Hag said, "Football is a game of mistakes and, of course, it was a really bad moment [against West Ham]."

BY WAY OF LONDON STADIUM - On Sunday afternoon, West Ham overcame a goal down to defeat Leeds 3-1, bringing Sam Allardyce's team that much closer to the relegation zone.

The Hammers appeared to be suffering from some sort of European hangover as they fell down to Rodrigo's thunderous volley but came back spectacularly to surpass Bournemouth and go up to 14th place in the Premier League standings.

Declan Rice, Jarrod Bowen, and Manuel Lanzini scored goals for West Ham. West Ham, which will play Leicester at King Power Stadium on the last day of the season, may need all three points to avoid relegation.

West Ham made six adjustments from the team that triumphed in Alkmaar.

Pablo Fornals, the game's winner, was one of six changes made by West Ham from the team that prevailed in Alkmaar on Thursday night. Sam Allardyce also recalled Adam Forshaw in place of Sam Greenwood and replaced Junior Firpo, who was suspended, with Pascal Struijk.

Additionally, Allardyce's team got off to a faster start. In the first five minutes, Patrick Bamford twice went in behind Kurt Zouma before Jack Harrison forced Lukasz Fabianski to make the game's first save.

West Ham, who was lethargic throughout the game, slept off after a throw-in as a result of Leeds' pressure, which led to the game's first goal. Unmarked Rodrigo volleyed Weston McKennie's long throw into the box into the top corner as the home defense stood by and watched.

It was the Spaniard's 12th Premier League goal of the campaign for Leeds, but when West Ham awoke from their slumber, the game's momentum quickly turned back in their favor.

Rice had earlier attempted to score from 25 yards out against Joel Robles, but his equalizing goal came just after the half-hour mark thanks to some outstanding teamwork by Bowen and Fornals.

Following their 1-0 victory over Chelsea on Sunday afternoon, Manchester City raised the Premier League trophy.

The victory over Arsenal by Nottingham Forest on Saturday night made City the champions for the third straight year. They win their seventh Premier League championship and total ninth top-flight crown.

After a brief pitch invasion, the City players were welcomed back onto the field and applauded onto the platform one by one before Ilkay Gundogan raised the trophy to the delight of the enthusiastic Etihad crowd.

The celebrations were a little more subdued than they were when City defeated Aston Villa on the last day of the season to win the league. Pep Guardiola will have his hands full with the upcoming Champions League and FA Cup finals.

The game's lone goal was scored by Julian Alvarez as a much-changed City team took an early lead against a struggling Chelsea team. City had just thrashed Real Madrid in Europe midweek.

After Arsenal's loss, Guardiola made several changes to his starting lineup, giving Stefan Ortega, Kalvin Phillips, Rico Lewis, Sergio Gomez, and Cole Palmer among others the chance to play in goal.

Raheem Sterling returned to the Etihad and witnessed his former colleagues' celebrations after having performed well.
